This is the first time I’ve seen snow on the ground the entire month of January! We need the snowpack for our water supply, so this is a good thing!
Thank you for promptly paying your yearly assessments. We had a few homeowners that were surprised by the increase in dues and the shift to the left to get payments in. Therefore, I’ll quickly address this. Last year we had our annual meeting where homeowners get to vote on HOA leadership and the annual budget. The majority of homeowners that attended voted in favor of the new HOA rate after getting the full budget brief from our treasurer. Due to the enormous rise in operating cost that we are all seeing in our daily lives, and the need to properly fund an HOA reserve, the assessment had to increase to meet our basic operational and reserve obligations. Additionally, to align the yearly budget properly, which starts in January and goes through December, the dues needed to be collected in January. This is also the norm for HOA fees.
We worked hard last year to ensure all the homeowners were made aware of the new covenant consolidation effort and the annual meeting. The annual meeting is critical to get homeowner participation because this is where each homeowner gets to vote or discuss budget and leadership. We sent out several postcards and those that signed up for this newsletter also got periodic updates. This year we will increase the information effort by sending out a quarterly flyer to inform you of pertinent HOA information. Hopefully, this will help eliminate future surprises. We are trying to encourage everyone to sign up for this email as well. If you know other neighbors that are not getting the information they need from the HOA, please encourage them to go to the website and sign up for this newsletter.
Snow removal: Immediately after the first snowstorm we did not have a new HOA maintenance and snow removal contract established. Shortly after the snowstorm, we signed a contract with a team that is doing a great job clearing sidewalks on Sunset and on the east side of Ridgeview Dr between Pike and Emerald Dr.
We have added a new board member to the HOA! I want to welcome Kirsten Mispagel. She is a longtime resident of Creekside and a business owner. Her experience and interest in helping the HOA will be a great asset to the team. We encourage anyone interested that wants to get involved, please email the board@creeksideneighborhood.com. Our first immediate position to fill is secretary. If you have the inclination to act as our HOA secretary, please reach out to us immediately!
Thank you for your support!
