Most all Creekside neighborhood homeowners found a flyer in their mailbox pier over the past few days.
The subject was “The Chicken Vote”
The author is anonymous.
This material has several errors/misinformation in it.
Is this from the HOA Board?
It is not. Any communication you receive from the Creekside HOA Board will be clearly marked as that.
Is the HOA Board conducting a vote?
No. There are very specific rules enumerated in the Bylaws on how votes are to be conducted. This is not one of them.
Homeowners are encouraged to give opinions to the Board at any time and provisions are provided on the website. Please feel free to make use of that resource whenever you’d like to communicate with us.
Are 50 chicken permits the limit issued in the City of Longmont?
No. The URL provided on the flyer links to an ordinance from 2010 when the chicken permit program was in a trial state. Today’s ordinance (O-2011-02) was passed in 2011 when the trial period was considered successful and the city-wide permit number limit was removed. Reviewing today’s ordinance and speaking with the contact at the city (contact Building Services at (303) 651-8332) confirmed there is no limit on the number of chicken permits within the city.
Summary
The Board encourages a full discussion of the pros and cons of each issue that is of concern to the neighborhood and will make sure all Homeowners can be heard on any topic. Misinformation does not provide the proper background information you deserve to make an informed decision.
